Tijl Carpels began his career as a doctoral researcher at Ghent University, where he focused on data analysis and artificial intelligence. After his academic period, he moved into the business world and gained valuable experience in big data and AI. As an entrepreneur, Tijl made a name for himself in several companies, including TenderWolf, where he focused on simplifying government procurement using advanced AI technologies. Currently, Tijl serves as co-CEO of Hukaroi, where his main focus is analyzing HR data and developing strategies to help organizations best manage their workforce. His ability to translate complex data into practical insights and effective strategies has given Hukaroi a leading position in HR analytics and optimization.

Is ESG even relevant anymore?

The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requires companies of a certain size and/or turnover to report how socially responsible they are. By 2026, the first private companies would already have to report on 2025. The EU measures met with much resistance, as they imposed - according to critics - yet another administrative burden.

Although the 2014 Unified Statute eliminated many differences between blue-collar and white-collar workers, significant differences still remain in wage calculation and costs. Federal mobility budget is cost-saving

The federal mobility budget can be cost-saving for employers for three main reasons: the flat-rate TCO calculation often underestimates actual costs by assuming limited private mileage. Second, the mobility budget remains constant while with a company car the CO2 contribution and rejected expenses on the SG&A increase annually. Finally, a mobility budget eliminates the obligation to intervene in commuting expenses such as bicycle allowances or public transport subscriptions.
