In order to underpin its HR and recruitment policy financially, oona needed insight into wage and employment costs. With hukaroi, we developed a customized tool that oona can use itself and that provides cash-flow insight into wage costs, including evolutions (e.g. due to wage indexations, merit increases, etc.).

We had (and still have) a very pleasant cooperation with hukaroi where we received a personal approach and were listened to. We needed an optimal solution for budgeting our labour costs. Together we came up with a tool that now enables us to budget our labour costs in great detail on a quarterly basis. After the development of the tool, we also received updates about changes in legislation that would have an impact on our budget.

Challenges

Oona wants to be able to continue to grow in a sustainable manner. Since oona offers services, sustainable growth equates to a hiring policy that is budget solid.

In short, in order to make sound hiring and payroll decisions, oona needed a solution that would give them keen insights into their payroll cost and its composition.

Ideally, they were also able to make their own calculations, simulate hiring at a certain point in time, be able to simulate pay increases for one or more employees or a group of employees, ...

The traditional players (social secretariats, consulting firms) provide a pdf or a spreadsheet with no additional insights. Standard solutions that roll out of the system, whereas oona was looking for a customized solution.

Starting from the needs of oona, we developed a tool that enables them to gain insight into their wage costs. Not only the wage cost at one specific moment, but also how the wage cost evolves in function of wage increases, indexation, new employees, ...

How the wage policy oona was designed was translated into a tool. Since every parameter can be adjusted by oona, they have complete control. If something changes in the wage policy or if they want to simulate its impact, this is perfectly possible without our intervention.

With the tool, oona is even able to gain quarterly insight into payroll costs, which have been known to fluctuate quarter by quarter.

In this way, oona has a cash flow-based understanding of payroll costs, not only on a per-employee basis but also at the level of the total population of employees.
